Japan Trip 2015 - How to make connecting flight from Haneda International Airport to Haneda Domestic Terminal to Chitose Airport.

On arrival at Haneda Airport, once we exited from the plane, just followed the directions that stated arrival, go through immigration procedures and claimed our luggages (depending on whether your luggage is auto rechecked by the airline but for our trip, we need to claim our luggage and recheck them).

Then exited the arrival hall, turn to the right and looked for signs that stated Domestic Connecting Flight, need to look for the check in counter (either JAL or ANA depending on which airline you are booked) to recheck in our luggage into the domestic plane. Less than 5 mins walk from arrival hall to the check in counter.

Depending on your airline, go to ANA counter if yours is ANA airline but as our connecting flight is also Japan Airlines, we went to the JAL counter to recheck in our luggages. Then head to the opposite side to take the free shuttle bus to the domestic terminal. ANA and JAL are two different terminals, just look for the bus with the respective airline logo, wont go wrong.

There's cafe and resaurants in the domestic terminal, had our lunch before boarding the plane but I was so tired , did not manage to sleep in the plane, so was looking forward to have my nap in the hotel in Sapporo hahaha.

Hello, ur blog on ur trip has been quite a help for me planning my trips... Where to go and what to do~ Erm, I will be taking JAL to Sapporo from Singapore too, and we have a 3hrs stopover at haneda, was wondering if the time is sufficient for us to get from international terminal to domestic terminal.... I traveling with my parents who are not really able to run fast... From your experience, how long did customs clearance/baggage claim take? Easy to get to domestic terminal? Thanks

Hi Rebecca, am glad my blog is helpful with your planning of your trip. If you booked the same airline in one booking, dont worry, if there's any flight delay, they will make sure you get on the plane from Haneda to Sapporo, unless you booked the international and domestic on different airlines or same airline but two different bookings, pray there's no delay in flight. But three hours is more than sufficient. Remember to collect your luggage after clearing custom at the airport, then once you exit , turn to your right and look for JAL counter (less than 5 mins walk), check in your bag , then opposite the JAL counter is security check to lead you to the shuttle bus(make sure the bus has JAL logo) to take you to domestic airport. Total of all these is less than an hour. We still have time to eat at the domestic airport. If you encountered any problem, check with any airport staff, they can speak English. Have a good trip.

Hi Rebecca, BTW, hubby and me are in our mid 50s, we did not have to run for the above trip.

If I am not mistaken, our transfer time from international to domestic is only 2 and half hours. (Same airline booked in one booking).
