Japan Trip 2015 - Sapporo - Tanukikoji Sapporo and 5 story Daiso

Sapporo Ekimae-dori, an underground shopping linking Sapporo Station and Odori Station on Subway Namboku Line. It takes about 10 minutes to walk through. Opened in 2011, it links JR Sapporo Station and Subway Namboku Line Susukino Station underground in a straight line, and it also directly connects to Odori Park, where many events are held. Read more from official website of Welcome Sapporo.

From the underground shopping, we can also access to Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade. Looked out for the signboards after Odori Station.

Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade has a roofed arcade starts at Nishi-1-chome and ends at Nishi-7-chome. (Meaning there's 7 section of the shopping arcade).

This is the place to buy most of Hokkaido Souvenirs.

The 5 storey Daiso is located near Tanukikoji Sapporo. Daiso is between Tanukikoji Nishi-1-chome and Nishi-2-chome (between section 1 and 2), turn left and you can see Macdonald. Daiso is just one small alley next to Macdonald. (Less than a min walk from section 1 and 2 of the arcade.)

It was raining and dark so did not get a good photo of Daiso and more over is almost closing time, we hurriedly went in and look for cheap and good buys. Most of the items in Daiso is priced at 100 yen i.e. S$1.10 (at the time of exchange rate) (Singapore Daiso goods priced at S$2).

The best buy we bought at Daiso Sapporo must be these Hello Kitty Clips, can be used as paper clips or clipped onto half open potato chips bags, etc.

The bigger clip has magnet behind and can be used to clip notes and stick to the fridge due to its magnet.

The best part must be these Hello Kitty Clips are for sale only in Japan.

Bought several of them, good as souvenirs to all the nieces and at only 100 yen each.

Another best shopping area in Tanukikoji must be the tax free shop, get all the Hokkaido Products from them, is tax fee. Even if you did not go to other parts of Hokkaido just like me, you can still buy the products from here. (Eg. lavender products, etc)

I bought these Royce Nutty Bar Chocolates, Hokkaido Products, is almost 50% cheaper than Singapore. They really tasted very good, and not hard even if you do not have strong teeth to bite, the nutty chocolate melts in your mouth.

There's a lot of these shops in Tanukikoji selling cosmetics and toiletries, check if you really wanted to buy cause these are not made in Japan but made in other countries, explained why the price is cheap.

Lots of plastic umbrella selling very cheap (Daiso selling them at 200 yen only), they are also called disposable umbrella cause of the cheap price, useful for raining days only.

Finally spotted fruits that are cheaper from what I saw in the last two days.

Happy with my shopping for the night, time to head back to hotel for good rest.
